Transit commission approves changes to bus routes

The city's transit commission has unanimously approved bus route cuts, changes and service hour reductions to about 100 OC Transpo bus routes.

Although more than 30 public delegates expressed their opposition Wednesday, the commission voted 12-0 to approve the changes, which do not have to go before full council for approval.

City staff says the changes will lead to $20 million in annual savings. The changes will take effect in September.
