Via Rail service is back to normal Thursday after a man was struck and killed on the tracks east of Ottawa.

Train service was disrupted just after 4 p.m. when a train en route to Ottawa from Montreal struck a male pedestrian on a bridge in Casselman, about 60 kilometres east of Ottawa.

The name of the man has not been released. None of the passengers onboard the train were injured.

Buses were sent to the scene Wednesday to bring Via Rail passengers to Ottawa to complete their trip.
