Ottawa native and world-renowned funny man Tom Green is bringing his wacky comedy tour to the capital, choosing to donate the proceeds to an old friend.
Green will perform at Centerpointe Theatre Thursday night, donating all proceeds to his former neighbour who was severely injured in a pick-up hockey game last winter.
Rene Faucher suffered a severe spinal injury when he slammed into the boards last January. Although he was wearing a helmet, his injuries left him severely injured.
At the time, Faucher was self-employed and did not have long-term disability insurance.
When Green found out about the incident, he knew he had to do something to help.
"If you're thinking about getting out of the house tonight, that's a good reason to do it," Green told Ottawa residents on Thursday.
Tonight's show starts at 8 p.m.
