TORONTO - Three New Democrats are vying for a nomination to run against Progressive Conservative Leader John Tory in a byelection he hopes will return him to the Ontario legislature.

Lynne Boldt, a longtime resident of Victoria County and the chairwoman of the Ontario De-amalgamation Network, will seek a nomination.

She's joined by CUPE Local 855 president Lyn Edwards and Stephen Woof.

Woof is vice-president of the local district of the Ontario Secondary School Teachers' Federation.

Tory was nominated to seek a seat in the Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock riding Thursday night after Laurie Scott stepped down to make way for him.

He's been without a seat since his ill-fated bid in the 2007 election for the Toronto riding held by Education Minister Kathleen Wynne.
