Juno-nominated artists got a preview of their reception at Scotiabank Place a day before Sunday's show as thousands packed the Juno Fan Fare.

The St. Laurent Centre was filled with fans hoping to get a picture or autograph from their favourite Canadian music stars Saturday afternoon.

"We're here for Alyssa Reid so we're pretty excited and I'm kind of shaking right now," said Amanda Danis. "Getting closer and closer and my heart's beating faster and faster."

"I like the fact (Swollen Members) take care of their own music," said Nuno Dias. "They're absolutely some of the best artists I've heard, they represent Canada the way they should and they're true entrepreneurs in their industry."

MuchMusic provided the hosts for the event, who said they can feel the buzz in the city.

"Ottawa is amazing, the feeling in the air right now is totally electric," said Liz Trinnear.

"There are so many amazing artists and this is a pretty unbelievable opportunity, that we have all these artists in one place for everyone to meet and get autographs from," said Jesse Giddings.

Those VJs came with a recipe for popular pop group Down With Webster and their signature W logo – a burger whose ingredients all started with the letter W.

"We've got white chocolate, walnuts, wasabi . . ." they said while presenting it to the band.

"Their songs are just so great to dance to and have fun to," said one DWW fan.

Away from the mayhem at the mall, some artists got a chance to meet Prime Minister Stephen Harper at 24 Sussex Drive.

Heritage Minister James Moore tweeted Simple Plan, Jim Cuddy, Deadmau5, Dan Mangan and others were meeting the prime minister, who played a song with Blue Rodeo.
