The Glen Scottish Restaurant and Pub in Stittsville has battered away the competition to win Ottawa's Best Fish and Chips.
The Scottish eatery has been open since 1988 when John McConville and his family brought the taste of their homeland to the Ottawa area.
They just recently brought their delicious McConville Special down the road to a new location.
"We have Scottish haddock on the menu, and we only use haddock," John McConville said. "We've got one battered in the pan and we've also got one breaded . . . at the Glen you can have one of each which we call the McConville Special."
He said the restaurant only uses vegetable oil in its fryers.
This week voters can sink their teeth into nominating Ottawa's Best Steak.
You can submit your nominations until Sunday at midnight, then vote on the top picks until Thursday at 1 p.m.
The winner will be announced on the CTV News at 6 on Friday, August 19, 2011.
