An 18-year-old Ottawa man is charged with assault after a man was allegedly struck in the head with a hammer while riding an OC Transpo bus along the Ottawa River Parkway.
Ottawa police say two male passengers travelling westbound on the 96 bus route apparently got into a verbal dispute that quickly turned violent at about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Police arrested one suspect, while the male victim was transported to hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
Jacob Young-Pine is charged with assault causing bodily harm and assault with a weapon. He is scheduled to appear in court June 24.
