The Ontario Teachers College has taken away an Ottawa teacher's license after she allegedly carried on inappropriate sexual relationships with students.

Joanne Leger-Legault pleaded no contest to allegations of sexual relationships with two male students and kissing a third.

She was teaching until the end of the 2010-2011 academic year despite the allegations first brought about in 2001.

The alleged incidents included "intimate sexual relationships," and meetings students in cars, coffee shops and classrooms, and text messaging.

They occurred at an unnamed school during the years 2001-2002 and 2005-2006.

The school district said it contacted police after it received a complaint in 2006, but there wasn't enough evidence to pursue criminal charges.

Leger-Legault was disciplined at the time after an internal investigation.
