The classroom has been undergoing a revolution in recent years due to computer technology.

But some teachers can be intimated by tech issues.

Help is now available from a website called Nortellearnit.org. It began three years ago at Nortel in Ottawa, and now offers a wide range of videos and other resources to help teacher tackle tech lessons.

"They need to check out the website to see just what is available in videos and other resources and they need to look at the material that has been posted by other teachers," said Grade 6 teacher, Joanne Favell.

Nortel provides workshops for teachers and the website is a way to reinforce those lessons. The website, which people can access for free, now receives 200,000 hits a month.

Bob Long has been working on the program at Nortel from day one.

"The most surprising thing has been the comments from teachers on how much things have changed for the better in the classroom," said Long.

"We get comments from parents who ask us what we are doing, what has changed."

The Learn It site has now formed an alliance with Curriki.org, a similar site started by Sun Microsystems. They receive around one million hits per month.
