Bidding on abandoned storage lockers in the U.S. has become a popular TV show, Storage Wars.
The show has made the auctions very popular and you can go to storage auctions right here in Ottawa.
There are more than a dozen units on the block today at Kanata Self Storage in Stittsville. Some will contain trash but all the bidders are looking for a treasure.
The storage units end up on the auction block when renters miss at least two months of payments. That can happen for a number of reasons, sometimes they forget, sometimes the renters have died.
