Investigators are continuing to search for the cause of a fire that ripped through Tommy and Lefebvre's flagship sporting goods store at Bank and McLeod streets early Tuesday morning.

"There's been absolutely no talk of any foul play at this point. They do treat it as a crime scene because they can't give us a definitive answer right now," said Natalie Tommy, whose father helped build the store in 1958.

"As far as we know, it could be the old electrical in the building. It could be just straight up fire. We really have no idea," she said.

Wrecking crews were on the scene Wednesday, as they began to dismantle the building, which is expected to take a couple of days.

In the meantime, the owners of Tommy and Lefebvre have vowed to rebuild their flagship store on Bank Street, noting it's possible a quarter of the building will be salvaged.

The business is planning to open a temporary location in the downtown core to help facilitate customers who were affected by the fire.
