Stabbing leaves man in life-threatening condition on Baseline Road, police lay charges
The Ottawa Police Service says a man has been charged, at this time, following a stabbing incident that left another man in life-threatening condition on Baseline Road in the early hours of Friday morning.
"At this time, one man has been charged with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon," Ottawa police told CTV News in a statement.
Paramedics say they were called around 5:54 a.m. to Baseline Road between Navaho Drive and Woodroffe Avenue.
Police say when officers arrived on the scene, they found a man with serious stab wounds. The man was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition, where he remains.
Police add they have located all the parties involved in this incident.
There is no threat to public safety.
The investigation is ongoing.
People were asked to expect a significant police presence in the area for the next couple of hours. There were no road closures.
