For the first time in three years, the Snowbirds came to the National Capital Region -- specifically, Gatineau -- for a full airshow.
They were performing their aerobatic moves at the Vintage Wings of Canada open house and air show at the Gatineau airport.
"They have honoured us by agreeing to fly here today at our event," said founder Michael Potter.
"They're really fast, and they're exciting," added one spectator.
Worldwide showcase for Canadians
The Canadian Forces snowbirds showcase their skills all over the world.
"For us, it's a chance to display all the skills, the professionalism, and just act as ambassadors for Canada," said Lt. Col. Maryse Carmichael, the Snowbirds commander.
And their choreographed display in Canadian airspace was a thrill for all.
"I just love jets, and I love the accessibility of all this. It's incredible to have this here," said a plane-watcher.
Vintage aircraft also took to the sky, including an SB Corsair Grey Ghost, celebrating the Navy's 100th anniversary, and an F-86 Sabre Hawk One.
With a 20-year air force career behind him, Major Michael Woodfield (Ret.) said he takes great pleasure in flying the Hawk One.
"It's an honest airplane; it speaks to you in the way airplanes do," he said.
