A Smiths Falls woman is dead after a head-on crash just outside of her hometown Wednesday morning.
Lanark County OPP said 51-year-old Tracy Banks was killed when an eastbound Jeep and a westbound Kia collided on Highway 43 around 7:25 a.m.
The 31-year-old male driver of the other vehicle sustained serious but non life-threatening injuries.
Police said Highway 43 in Drummond/North Elmsley Township remains closed, with westbound detours through Smiths Falls and eastbound traffic re-routed through Lombardy.
