PETERBOROUGH, Ont. - Dalton Smith scored once in regulation time and the winner in a shootout as the Ottawa 67's defeated the Peterborough Petes 7-6 on Saturday in Ontario Hockey League.

Sean Monahan had a hat trick to lead Ottawa (17-7-4) while Shane Prince added two goals and three assists.

Matt Puempel and Andrew Yogan had two goals each for Peterborough (14-9-5) as Peter Ceresnak and Joey West added singles. Austin Watson chipped in four assists for the Petes.

Mike Morrison made 30 saves for the win while Petr Mrazek stopped 36 shots in defeat.

The Petes were 4-for-7 on the power play while the 67's went 2-for-6.
