Six people are in police custody after a violent home invasion in west Ottawa Friday morning.
Police said a number of suspects forced their way into a home in the 1800 block of Baseline Road around 1:22 a.m.
They allegedly held the people inside at gunpoint using a sawed-off shotgun while other stole various items.
One victim suffering non life-threatening stab wounds.
Six people were arrested for various criminal offences, and the Ottawa police's Guns and Gangs unit is investigating.
Those charged are:
- 20-year-old Justin Melville and 23-year-old Joshua Briere, charged with conspiracy to commit an indictable offence.
- 20-year-old Jeffery Gerrior, charged with conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, robbery/theft with violence or threats of violence, five counts of robbery, posession of a weapon and assault with a weapon or imitation weapon.
- 19-year-old Christopher Uniat, charged with conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, robbery/theft with violence or threats of violence, five counts of robbery, posession of a weapon, assault with a weapon or imitation weapon, use of a firearm to commit an indictable offence and pointing a firearm.
- 19-year-old Yacin Osman, charged with conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, robbery/theft with violence or threats of violence, five counts of robbery, posession of a weapon and assault with a weapon or imitation weapon.
- 19-year-old Carl Beverly, charged with conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, robbery/theft with violence or threats of violence and five counts of robbery,
