The Target liquidation began today, as 133 stores are closing across the country, including 5 here in the capital.

The liquidators are promising up to 30% off, but many shoppers are walking away disappointed.

An hour before Target opened this morning, Sarah Depow was waiting to be among the first to check-out the sales.

"I actually came out last night and checked-out the inventory,” says Depow. “I'm interested in a big screen TV.”

By 8:00am at Billings Bridge Plaza, about 40 people were in-line when Target opened its doors.

Some shoppers were happy with the modest savings, but most were discouraged.

Some items that are marked down include:

30%: Cosmetics, winter stock, and stationary.

20%: Toys, home decor, and clothing.

10%: TV's, furniture, bedding, groceries, diapers, strollers and car seats.

5%: Laptops and Ipads.

Sarah Depow didn't get her big screen TV, at just 10% off, but she did manage to find a few good deals.

"Their home furnishings I like, you can't get that anywhere else,” says Depow, “They were 20% off, so I stocked-up.”

Target isn't commenting on-camera today, but in a statement said they aren't setting the prices anymore, the discounts are decided by the liquidators.
