A 25-year-old man remains in hospital where he's fighting for his life after he suffered a severe head injury during an alleged assault at a wilderness adventure resort north of Ottawa.

Police found the unconscious man when they responded to a call at Wilderness Tours in Beachburg, Ont. early Sunday morning. The victim, who is from Toronto, was rushed to the Ottawa Hospital.

A 28-year-old man from London, Ont. is charged with aggravated assault and assault causing bodily harm.

Jerry Azevedo appeared in court for a bail hearing Tuesday morning. He remains in custody.

Wilderness Tours, near Renfrew, offers whitewater rafting on the Ottawa River, kayaking, mountain biking, bungee jumping, as well as accommodations. The resort is about 130 kilometres northwest of Ottawa.
