A 73-year-old man was struck with a blunt object - and perhaps hit with pepper spray - by two attackers after opening the door to his home north of Buckingham, Que. on Friday morning.

The French-speaking suspects, one male and one female, fled with cash in gold or beige car after robbing the home on Chemin Butler at about 11:30 a.m.

The victim was taken to Buckingham hospital with minor injuries. A woman was also inside the house but left without being injured.

The male suspect was described as 30 to 35 years old, five foot six or seven, 140 pounds, with brown hair, blue jeans, and a plaid shirt.

The female suspect is 25 to 30 years old, with black hair in a ponytail, dark-coloured eyes, and a scar on the side of her mouth. She had a tattoo near her navel and was wearing a black coat.
