Family and friends are continuing to scour the capital for a missing 14-year-old boy who disappeared five days ago.
Although police believe Justin Rutter may have run away from home, investigators say foul play has not been ruled out.
"There has been some unconfirmed sightings throughout the weekend . . . in the area of Overbrook, Vanier, the Market or Lowertown. So, that's the area we're focusing our energy on right now," said Const. J.P. Vincelette of the Ottawa police.
Rutter was last seen on Cote Street near St. Laurent Boulevard at about 10 p.m. on Thursday. He's described as a "street smart" kid who is known for his outgoing nature -- he's even nicknamed "the little Mayor of Lowertown."
Police say he apparently told his friend he did not want to return home after going out Thursday night. Instead, Rutter said he wanted to stay out late, possibly all night, according to police.
At that point, police say the boys parted ways and Rutter never returned home. However, not coming home for Thanksgiving is something his grandmother says is completely out of character.
"That's another thing that worries me because Justin loves Thanksgiving. He loves to eat, and he's not there," said Diane Veilleux.
Rutter is described as about five feet four inches tall, and weighs 110 pounds. He has light brown hair and brown eyes. He was wearing jeans and a brown and white hoodie at the time of his disappearance.
Police say he often hangs out in the Lowertown, Vanier and Overbrook area. He has never stayed away from home before.
"Justin is not in any trouble at this time, and our goal is to reunite him with his family," said Vincelette.
