Friends of a North Dundas woman missing since Wednesday are speaking out and stepping up their search to find her.

“We miss you. We want to know what’s going on and let someone know you're ok… this doesn't make sense to any of us,” said friend Shelley Rabinovitch.

28-year-old Melissa Kelly Richmond was last seen leaving her home just south of Winchester in a beige 2004 Chrysler Sebring the evening of July 24.

Friends say Melissa told her husband Howard, a member of the Canadian Forces, that she was going for a drive that night. She never returned and Ontario Provincial Police say her vehicle was located in a parking lot in South Keys on the evening of July 26.

Bumper stickers on the car included “I Love My Soldier” and “Support the Soldiers”

Friends say it wasn’t unusual for her to go for drives late at night. They set up a Facebook group which has nearly 800 members dedicated to finding her.

They have also set up what they call “Melissa Headquarters” at her home.

“We had one map that we were drawing out areas we were assigning now I’m trying to consolidate and highlight over all the roads people have driven over looking for anything that looked suspicious,” said friend Gwendolyn Barr.

Her husband, Howard, posted on Facebook:

"I want to thank everyone who is helping us find Melissa. All the people reposting information, the people searching, the HQ group, people dropping off food, people putting up posters and especially the person who spotted her car. And the OPP special officers, remember they deal with the frustration and tension every day."

Richmond is described as standing five-foot-eight inches tall, 165 pounds with blue/grey eyes and dyed red hair. She was last seen wearing glasses and a red t-shirt with a Mac & Cheese logo.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-5477.
