Residents of Chapel Street were forced out of their homes for part of Saturday following a gas leak on Sandy Hill.
Around 5:30 p.m., emergency officials also shut down surrounding roads as a precaution. It was re-opened around 6:30 p.m.
Chapel Street was blocked to both pedestrians and vehicles between Mann Avenue and Templeton Street as the leak was repaired.
