Rural landowners have put a halt to the installation of septic treatment tanks near a family farm in Horton Township, just outside Renfrew.
The rural landowners association has put up a blockade and says the waste treatment would be too close to the Reid Dairy Farm, located just across the street.
The landowners association and the Reid family say they will continue to block access to the area until they are able to obtain a court injunction to stop the project.
The septic tanks are part of a pilot project on sewage treatment approved by Ontario's Environment Ministry.
