More than a dozen people were displaced after fire tore through a five-unit row house in Ottawa's south end on Monday.

It started at 93 Inverkip Ave. at around 4:30 p.m. Ottawa fire crews fought heavy smoke and flames that quickly spread to several units.

It took about half an hour to bring the flames under control. Three units were seriously damaged while a fourth one sustained damages to the second floor and roof.

18 people were displaced by the three-alarm blaze, though no injuries were reported.

The fire is estimated to have caused at least $2 million in damages.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
