Rotary Club of Brockville hosting annual Harvest Sharing Food Drive this weekend

The Rotary Club of Brockville has been hosting its annual Harvest Sharing Food Drive since Thursday evening, with donations supporting the Brockville and Area Food Bank.
Food donations will be collected by volunteers at the Real Canadian Superstore until noon on Saturday, and cash donations can also be made through the Rotary club's website.
This year's food drive comes as demand at the Brockville and Area Food Bank is rising, and donations are crucial.
The food bank provides a five-day supply of food to a family or an individual once a month.
They've been twice as busy as they were in 2023, when they served nearly 9,000 people all year.
From January to July this year, there have already been over 11,000 visits.
The food bank serves people in Brockville, Augusta, Front of Yonge and Elizabethtown-Kitley. Food donations are always accepted, but the Brockville and Area Food Bank thrives on cash donations, so they can hand select the types of food or products they can give away.
The thanksgiving food drive and another in December have been crucial for keeping the food bank afloat in the past and will continue to be as their demand surges.
