Friday was the launch day for a new cable-powered ferry between Thurso, QC. and Rockland, east of Ottawa.
Commuters have been waiting months for the battery-operated vessel, which has room for nine vehicles and costs $5.
Until now, east-end travelers had to cross the Ottawa River at Cumberland.
