OC Transpo's decision to reject ads that question the existence of God has stirred up mixed reaction in the capital.
"I think it's a political statement and I don't think the city should be advocating one position or another," said one Ottawa resident.
"I think it's probably inflammatory to do that, so I would probably agree with the city that probably you don't want to do things that are inflammatory," added another resident.
"People can think what they want, you know. Put up the ad and if I see the ad, I can say I am in agreement or not with it. So I say, put it up," said another.
Although OC Transpo officials decided the ads were not appropriate for the city's buses, the Free Thought Association of Canada says the decision censors Atheist views.
The group says it has not ruled out taking the decision to the Supreme Court of Canada.
