A Renfrew man is facing trespassing and weapons charges after allegedly being spotted in a Quinte West yard in the middle of the night.

Quinte West OPP said a call came in at 3:49 a.m. Saturday from a resident on Catalina Drive in Sidney Ward.

The caller told police there was a man standing in his yard, and when police searched the area they said they found him walking on the same road.

Philip Sprentzel, age 26 of Renfrew, has been charged with trespassing/prowling at night and two counts each of possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon and unauthorized possession of a weapon.

He is scheduled to appear in Belleville court on Tuesday.
