Far from just another dot on the map, the Red Dot Café in Osgoode has been voted as serving Ottawa's Best Dessert.

Scott Mulligan manages the restaurant south of Ottawa and said their recipes have stood the test of time.

"The recipes have been around for a long time. . . A lady by the name of Maria Grenault did the recipes here," he said. "It was an art to watch her do it."

Front and centre of those desserts is their specialty – their sticky toffee cake.

"The sticky toffee cake is out of this world," said one customer. "Everybody should come here and try it."

"They love them," said Mulligan. "They're fresh and we do them daily."

The Red Dot came in first place with 772 of 1950 votes; Da Bombe Dessert Factory in the Ottawa neighbourhood of Vanier came second.

  • Da Bombe Dessert Factory (17%)
  • Oh So Good (4%)
  • Ottawa Belgian Waffles (8%)
  • Pasticceria Gelateria Italiana (15%)
  • Red Dot Café (40%)
  • Simply Biscotti  (16%)
