The RCMP say they've charged a Montreal man after pulling over a van loaded with allegedly smuggled cigarettes in eastern Ontario.

Police say the arrest on Wednesday night led them to a house in South Stormont where more cigarettes were seized.

Police allege the cigarettes were manufactured in the U.S. and smuggled into Canada.

The van was seized and the 54-year-old driver was released on a promise to appear in Cornwall court on June 4th.
