Here's a touchy question: should BlackBerrys and cell phones ever be used during solemn occasions? That's a question for RCMP Commissioner William Elliott.

Earlier this week, CTV's cameras captured Elliott typing on his BlackBerry while gathering for the memorial service for fallen RCMP Const. Michael Potvin.

RCMP leaders gathered outside the church in Ottawa. Elliott, in a dark suit, standing right next to the fallen Mountie's Stetson.

He was typing on his BlackBerry. Seconds later, officers were called to attention before filing into the church.

CTV Ottawa put a call into the RCMP today, and has not heard back yet.

Did the commissioner do anything wrong? Have your say here.
