Police in west Quebec are looking for a man they say is behind two armed robberies Monday night.

Investigators with the MRC des Collines-de-l'Outaouais say the first one happened just after 9:30 p.m. at a gas station at 890 Montée de la Source in Cantley. Immediately following that robbery the suspect headed south and targeted a corner store on the same street.

Police say in both cases a knife was used to intimidate and gain access to the cash register. And investigators have discovered that in order to commit the second robbery, the suspect parked his car along Highway 307 and turned on the four-way flashers.

The suspect is described as a white man, 5'9", thin build, and between 18 and 25 years old. Police say he spoke French and sported a dark coloured hoodie, dark leather coat, camouflage style pants and a dark hat with a triangular logo on the front.

Anyone with information is asked to call detective Dominic Lafrenière at 819-459-2422 ext. 3234.
