Quebec Provincial Police confirm a woman and child are in critical condition in hospital after a head-on collision Thursday morning near Maniwaki.
The crash happened at about 8:50 a.m. on Highway 105 in the Messines area. Police say a car driving along the highway lost control and swerved into a small truck heading in the opposite direction.
All four people in the car were injured. The driver and a child were taken to hospital in critical condition.
The man driving the truck was also taken to hospital in serious condition.
Police are still investigating the cause but say ice may have been a factor.
