OC Transpo is handing out the first of its 10,000 free Presto cards this morning at the Hurdman Station.

The troubled smart card system is working well enough, say transit officials, to begin a larger rollout to users.  The Presto system has been delayed several months while the company Metrolinx irons out a number of glitches.

Cards will be available at the Hurdman Station until 6:00pm tonight.

More cards will be distributed to riders at the Baseline transit stations next Tuesday and at the Fallowfield Station next Thursday.

Transit riders can also visit the Presto website at prestocard.ca or contact the Presto Call Centre at 1-877-378-6123 to order a card.
