Ottawans love their poutine.

For the second time in a little over 5 months, the Sparks Street Mall is hosting a festival celebrating the uniquely-Canadian dish of French fries, cheese curds and gravy.

Poutine Fest runs April 24th to the 27th. It features 25 different poutine vendors spread out along Sparks Street along with 6 participating restaurants.

It’s a chance to try out some, shall we say, unique poutine combinations. You’ll find lobster poutine, shawarma poutine, fajita poutine, filet mignon poutine, duck poutine, lamb poutine, even Thai poutine.  And that is by no means a complete list.

Admission is free. Patrons are welcome to buy their poutine individually, or purchase a “Poutine Passport” good for 5 different 8-ounce samplers from participating vendors.

There is also live entertainment including musicians and street performers.

The Sparks Street Authority staged a similar event last November. This time organizers have added extra vendors and an extra day to meet the high demand for poutine.
