A post-mortem is scheduled to be held Monday on the body of a 42-year-old hunter found in the woods in Tyendinaga Township.
Ontario provincial police say old Derrick Roy Thompson of St. Catharines went out hunting early Friday, but failed to return home when expected.
Family and friends began a search and found him with what appeared to be a gunshot wound in the woods north of Shannonville.
Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the area east of Belleville on Friday.
