Ontario Provincial Police say no charges will be laid after a fatal crash involving a snowplow killed a 60-year-old Pembroke woman near Renfrew Tuesday morning.

Police say Lucienne Webb was driving her car eastbound on Highway 17 when she pulled out to pass another vehicle.

A truck equipped with a snowplow was coming the other way, and when Webb tried to get out of the way, she lost control and struck the snowplow.

Police say the collision occurred east of Chenaux Road, near Haley Station, at about 7:45 a.m. Webb was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the snowplow, which was attached to a truck owned by Bonnechere Excavating Inc., was not injured in the crash.

Police say it was snowing at the time of the incident.

Parts of the highway at Chenaux and Storyland Roads were closed for most of the day. The highway reopened at 3:30 p.m.
