Ottawa's acting police chief announced Tuesday that they will comply with a judge's order to release a video showing Roxanne Carr's treatment in the police cellblock by making a second copy of the original images.

A judge ordered the release of the video last week, but the DVD was missing from the court file.

Acting Police Chief Gilles Larochelle announced late Tuesday afternoon that police would make a copy of the video to release to the public. However, the video isn't expected to be released until later this week.

The footage shows Carr being brought into the central cellblock of Ottawa police headquarters on Elgin Street on Aug. 23, 2008.

Although Carr has launched a civil lawsuit against police, alleging she was mistreated and injured while in custody, Larochelle said he is satisfied with the way his officers acted.

"I am satisfied that cellblock officers handled the custody of Roxanne Carr with the utmost professionalism, especially when faced with a crisis in the cell," Larochelle stated.

Carr alleges police broke her arm, banged her head against the floor and left her naked in a cell after she was arrested.

One of the officers accused in the case is Sgt. Steve Desjourdy who was charged with sexual assault in connection with the Stacy Bonds case.

Carr was charged with assaulting police, obstructing police and damaging property. Those charges were dropped in April.
