Ottawa police are looking for separate male suspects in a series of December bank robberies.

A lone male entered the TD Bank at 1800 Carling Ave. at 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 30. The man acted suspicious and approached the wicket, asking for a taxi phone number before leaving the bank.

Twenty minutes later, the same man robbed the TD Bank at 337 Richmond Rd. He gave a note to the clerk and left the bank, with money, in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as black, in his late teens or early 20s, five feet 10 inches tall, clean shaven, and with a slim build.

He wore a black leather jacket with a white image with the numbers 001 on the back, a black toque, and a black scarf.

The other suspect first robbed the CIBC at 3777 Strandherd Dr. on Dec. 13 at 12:45 p.m., giving a note to the clerk. He left the bank, with money, in an unknown direction.

A man with the same description robbed the TD Bank at 263 Elgin St. the same day at about 2:45 p.m., using the same method.

The suspect was described as white, in his late teens or early 20s, five foot four to five foot seven tall with a medium build, and clean-shaven with a pock-marked complexion. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black baseball hat, and khaki pants.

Two arrests in recent Ottawa robberies

A 35-year-old Ottawa man is charged with robbing a Sandy Hill apartment last week.

Someone forcibly entered a multi-dwelling unit on the 300 block of Goulbourn Avenue on Jan. 14, robbing the occupant of an undisclosed amount of cash. There were no injuries.

Abdirahman Suleman has been charged with break and enter with intent, robbery, possession of a dangerous weapon, uttering threats, wearing a disguise, and intimidation.

Suleman was scheduled to appear in court Friday.

Meanwhile, another 35-year-old Ottawa man was arrested after a robbery on George Street in the ByWard Market Wednesday night.

The 56-year-old victim lost cash and personal effects but was not injured. The suspect was arrested a short time later by patrol officers.

Michael Caverly appeared in court Friday on charges of robbery, uttering threats, and breach of probation.
