Ottawa police have released new photos of three persons of interest they hope will help them solve the city's latest homicide.
21-year-old Jabeir Jemmie was fatally stabbed early Saturday morning on Elgin St. near Frank St.
“We believe there are people out there who know some things about the incident that happened on Elgin St...and we’d like to get the information from them,” said Ottawa Police Staff Sergeant Rob Drummond.
Drummond said at this point police are simply looking to speak with the three young men in the photos.
"Investigators would like the three men, who have been identified as persons of interest, to come forward and be interviewed," Drummond said in a news release. "If you recognize yourself or someone you know from these pictures please contact Major Crime."
Jemmie was stabbed multiple times around 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning near Elgin and Frank Streets, which is a popular spot for nightlife in the city.
He was rushed to hospital, where he later died of his injuries.
Police have also released a photo a Jemmie, showing what he was wearing the night he was killed.
"Jabeir was wearing a dark shirt and later added a white piece of clothing on his shoulders,” said Drummond.
Police hope the photo will help jog someone’s memory.
Ottawa Police would like to speak to anyone who was in the vicinity of Elgin and Frank streets between 2:15 a.m. and 2:45 a.m. on Saturday, and are asking people who took photos of the area that night to contact them.
“It would just help us identify who’s involved, would bring us evidence…and would help us bring the investigation forward.”
Earlier this week, police released a photo of another person of interest, who they were later able to speak with. He is not considered a suspect.
Jemmie is Ottawa’s fourth homicide victim of the year.
