Police are searching a wooded area for signs of a missing 80-year-old Brockville woman after a teen was arrested in connection with the case earlier this week.
Valerie Xavier was reported missing on Monday. Her car was later found in possession of a 16-year-old Brockville male who was arrested by police in Ottawa.
Police have spent the last two days searching for clues in a wooded area off Highway 29, near Buells Creek Reservoir, in Brockville.
Although an underwater search and recovery unit was called in Wednesday, divers found nothing. They will continue their search on Thursday.
Xavier was last known to be at her home on Laurier Boulevard in Brockville on Sunday evening. She is described as a petite woman with white hair and glasses.
The youth is charged with possessing a stolen credit card, theft over $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime.
