Ottawa police say their investigation has revealed that a suspicious death in Barrhaven was the result of a suicide.
The Major Crime Unit was brought in to investigate after police were called to a home on Kennevale Drive just before midnight on Tuesday.
A male victim with no vital signs was found outside the home lying in a pool of blood.
After doing compressions on the victim for about 20 minutes, the man was declared dead at the scene, according to neighbours. The man did not live at the home where he was found.
A relative of the homeowner told CTV Ottawa that someone in distress knocked on her brother's door looking for help in the middle of the night.
The woman said her brother, who lives in the home with his wife and two young children, wouldn't let the person in, and called police.
