Police say autopsies confirm deaths as 'suspicious'

Gatineau police say autopsies on the bodies of two women found within a 24-hour period in the same apartment complex confirm their deaths are suspicious.

The bodies of 53-year-old Johan Ayotte and 64-year-old Diane Johanette were found in separate units in the same apartment building at 267 Rue de Malartic in Gatineau last week.

Both women lived alone and residents of the building have identified the pair as best friends who were inseparable.

Investigators say the exact cause of death for both women is yet to be determined.

Police are continuing their investigation.
