An Ottawa police officer who shared his personal story with CTV viewers has lost his battle with Lou Gehrig's disease. Constable Brian Dyck was diagnosed with the debiliating disease just a year ago.
In less than six months, he lost the ability to walk on his own.
He and his wife Natali -- also a police officer -- hoped bringing their struggle into the open would make a difference.
Along the way he's inspired fundraisers and others to help fight for a cure.
Brian Dyck passed away Friday. He was 42.
