Ontario Provincial Police say a two-year investigation has cracked a cell of Hells Angels operating in eastern Ontario.

Police laid more than 300 charges and arrested eight people over the last week in connection with the case, which examined Hells Angels activity in Ottawa, Brockville, Kingston and the surrounding area.

Police say a warrant is outstanding for Ian Conklin, 45, of North Augusta Township. He is charged with conspiracy to traffic, conspiracy for a criminal organization, among other charges.

The probe, which began in August 2007, was launched after police received several complaints about drug trafficking and intimidation in local communities.

The investigation uncovered a cell of Hells Angels Ontario Nomads operating in the area, and led to the seizure of various drugs, including cocaine and cannabis, which had a street value of almost $250,000.

A machine gun with a silencer, a sawed off shotgun and nine handguns were also seized. All of the guns were illegal.

The eight individuals arrested, including one woman, are scheduled to appear in court in Ottawa on Thursday.

Police say their investigation is ongoing.
