Police are looking for clues after a hit and run collision in the downtown core sent two pedestrians to hospital Thursday night.

The incident occurred between 8:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Police said the exact location of the crash is unknown but it likely took place at Maclaren and Elgin Streets or in the 300 Block of Gilmour St. between O'Connor and Metcalfe Streets.

A 41-year-old man was transported to hospital where he remains in serious but stable condition. A 50-year-old woman was also brought to hospital but she has since been released.

Police say a white SUV may have been involved in the collision.
