Police in Napanee and Quinte West have issued a public safety warning after two girls were allegedly sexually assaulted in area-hotels.

Ontario Provincial Police issued the warning Tuesday after a young girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by an unidentified male Saturday in an elevator at the Hampton Inn in Napanee.

OPP say a similar assault was reported against another young girl in the hallway of a Holiday Inn in Quinte West in December 2009.

In both cases, police say the children were with other kids at the time of the incident.

Police say their investigation leads them to believe the two incidents might be related.

The suspect is described as a clean-shaven white male in his late 20s or early 30s. Police say he is about six feet tall and is thin with a noticeable belly.
