After two cars broke through the Ottawa River on Sunday afternoon, police issued a warning telling residents to keep their vehicles off the river ice. One man was rescued off the hood of his truck in Constance Bay as police searched for a second car that fell through nearby.

The incident took place shortly after 3:30 p.m. near Aylmer's Island, at Bayview and Bishop Davis drives, and police would not confirm if anyone was in the second vehicle.

Constance Bay is about an hour west of downtown Ottawa, straddling the Ontario and Quebec border.
