Ottawa Police have identified the city's latest homicide victim.

Police say 25-year-old Emilio Jimenez was shot in the area of York Street and Sussex Drive around 2 a.m. Thursday.

He was pronounced dead in hospital. This is the sixth homicide in Ottawa so far this year.

The Major Crime Unit confirmed officers stopped a black Range Rover on York Street near Cumberland and have arrested and charged 24-year-old Anas Mujber with second-degree-murder.  

Mujber made a court appearance Thursday. According to RCMP, in Grand Prairie, AB, Anas Mujber faces other charges before the courts from an arrest in February of 2018. Mujber was charged with possession of cocaine, methamphetamines, a hangun, ammunition and body armour.

Jimenez is described by loved ones as a young father who was a good person. Police believe Jimenez was gunned down at 2:07am outside a ByWard Market gentlemen's club by Mujber.
