Police in the MRC Des Collines have released the names of the man and woman killed in a house fire overnight Saturday.
The victims have been identified as 56-year-old Corina Usher Hayward, 51-year-old year old Richard Henry Neil, both were tenants living in the basement apartment.
The fire started on Wilson Road in the Pontiac about 10 p.m. on Saturday night. The homeowners who lived on the main floor were able to escape.
Police say Richard Henry Neil was living in the Pontiac under an assumed name, and had many outstanding warrents for his arrest. He was wanted for Breach of Probation in Sudbury and in the Niagara region.
Police are waiting for autopsy results to determine the cause of death.
The bodies have been sent to a laboaratory in Montreal for the autopsy.
